Please note that when you pick up your motorhome, you will sign a contract with the rental supplier. In the case of accidents and/or disputes, you should contact the depot. We will endeavour to facilitate communications, but your contract is with the supplier.

Due to circumstances beyond the control of the rental depots, it may be neccessary to substitute motorhome models. The depot will endeavour to give you the same type of motorhome.

Payment information: Payment policy

  1. All payments are due on the due date. Motorhome Europe follows general payment rules stated in Finnish law.
  2. The deposit is due at the time of booking. The full payment is Due 40 days before rental.
  3. For the bookings made less than 40 days prior to departure, full payment must be paid at the time of booking. The payment has to be made before pick-up in all rentals.
  4. If the payment is late, we reserve an option to charge a 16 %, Annual Percent Rate, late fee of the total amount of the original invoice. Late payments are compounded periodically not daily.
  5. Any alterations to a booking will incur a Euro50 fee!
  6. A Damage Deposit, is required upon departure to ensure that the vehicle is returned in the same condition as upon pick-up.
  7. Deposit is made with a credit card number, which is required already when you book a camper, or at the latest at the pick-up.

Cancellation policy

No refunds can be given for rentals ended early, late collections, no shows or cancellations made after the rental start date, even if cancellation protection is taken.

All cancellations must be made in writing, by fax or email. Date of cancellation is taken as the date that the cancellation request is received (working days only).

Cancellation of a booking incurs the loss of all monies paid unless Cancellation Protection is purchased.

Cancellation Protection (CP)

Cancellation Protection can be purchased in order to reduce the cost when a cancellation is made. Details of the Protected Cancellation Charges are specific to the rental supplier and can be viewed in the terms and conditions on the online booking system.

Protected Cancellation Charges:

  • 45 days or more prior to departure 5%
  • 44 days to 30 days prior to departure 30 %
  • 29 days to 16 days prior to departure 55 %
  • 15 days to 1 day prior to departure 100 %
  • Departure day or no-show 100 %

NO REFUND FOR LATE DEPARTURE OR EARLY RETURN!

Please note that the cancellation penalty will be charged automatically to your credit card, on receipt of your cancellation.

Cancellation fee will be a percentage of the total amount of an invoice, which includes handling fee, rental days, one-way fees, extra items, etc.

Discount is calculated from the rental price only. Base charge, extra items, one-way fees and insurance payments are not discountable.

Insurance

The insurance system is divided into 2 categories in Finland. First category is compulsory insurance, which covers damages to other party in case of accident caused by negligent party. Second category is collision insurance, which covers damages to the vehicle of negligent party.

The collision insurance covers damages to own vehicle in a case of accident, fire or theft. The insurance is not valid if the vehicle is being used under influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. Also, insurance is not valid if the damages are caused because of careless behavior by the renter or his party.

Motorhome Europe offers both insurances free of charge to all renters. The collision insurance has 2 400 Euro deductible, which means that the renter is responsible paying up to 2 400 Euro if he or she causes a damage or an accident to the vehicle. The collision insurance will pay the excess of 2 400 Euro. It is very important to notice that the deductible is per damage or accident not per rental period.

Motorhome Europe also offers two different extensive insurance coverage options to clients, who rent a camper for a minimum period of one week. Clients can choose to buy more extensive collision coverage and to reduce the deductible amount to 1 200 Euro by paying 9 Euro per rental day. They can also purchase TC Premium Insurance, which lowers the deductible to 600 Euro. In addition, there is no deductible for one tyre damage and / or one windscreen damage. This package costs 14 Euro per rental day. Minimum period is 7 days or a payment of equivalent amount. These deductible rules are valid for external and internal damages.

If an unauthorized driver causes an accident or damages the vehicle, deductible follows TC Basic insurance package and its rules.

Deductible cannot be reduced when renting a camper in Russia or Baltic states. Deductible in the case of theft is minumum 20% of the vehicle value in Russia and or Baltic states.

Maintenance and breakdown responsibility

The customer is responsible for informing Motorhome Europe rental station immediately upon discovering a technical malfunction. Failure to do so will remove to possibility of refund. Moreover the client is required to travel to the nearest repair store to have the discovered problem fixed.
The customer is responsible for checking engine oil, fluids, and coolant levels at each refueling, as well as reporting mechanical failures immediately. Instructions and procedures for maintenance expense reimbursement are provided at rental. Customers may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in vehicle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance. In the event the vehicle is in breakdown repair for 24 hours or more, through no fault of the customer, our responsibility to customer is limited to refund of daily rate or portion thereof. Radio, refrigerator, appliances, cruise control, and generator malfunctions are not considered breakdowns and no refunds are available for repair time to these items.

Traveling abroad

As a rule, travel abroad is possible in all countries of Europe. However, special insurance coverage is required for Russia, Poland, Belarus, and the Baltic States. You can travel to these countries with our campers, but you have to follow the special insurance requirements. If you plan to travel outside of Scandinavia, you have to inform us, when you book the trip. Driving to these countries is permitted with a notation on the Rental Agreement from the rental statation counter to present at customs. We obtain a green card, insurance document, if you wish to enter to these countries, but additional traffic insurance might be required. If so, it will be sold to you at customs. You have to stay inside the rental vehicle between 20:00 (08:00 PM) and 06:00 (AM). Otherwise, theft insurance is not valid. If you are not using the vehicle, you should organize secured and / or locked parking area for it. Deductible for theft case is 20% of retail value of the rental vehicle or lost items. Minimum amount is 600 euros.

Authorized driver

A valid driver's license is required for all rentals. Driver must have held a driver's license for driving passenger cars for at least one year.

Primary driver

Primary driver will be added to the Rental Agreement by the Pickup Depot Sales Staff. The office will add the name, which was given upon reservation, to the Rental Agreement. This individual must hold a valid driver’s license, be over 18 years of age, present an acceptable credit card (debit cards not accepted!), have held the driver’s license for driving passenger cars for at least one year.

Authorized Operators

Individuals not automatically covered on the Rental Agreement, as Authorized Operators, need to be approved by Pickup Depot Sales Staff before adding them on the agreement.

Renter and each Additional Authorized Operator must be present to sign Rental Agreement, present an acceptable credit card (debit cards not accepted!), show valid driver’s license, and must be a minimum of 18 years of age, he or she must have also held the driver’s license for driving passenger cars for at least one year. Additional Authorized Operator can be added without credit card number if the Primary Driver takes the responsibility for the accidents and damages up the deductible.

  • 1st additional driver 7 Euro / day (maximum 49 Euro)
  • 2nd additional driver 5 Euro / day (maximum 35 Euro)
  • 3rd additional driver free of charge

Service times

Motorhome Europe rental stations are open 24 (Twenty Four) hours 7 (seven) days a week by apppointment only.

Pick-up and drop-off times have to be informed upon booking, or it will not be confirmed.

Motorhome Europe needs exact pick-up and drop-off times!

In addition, flight numbers have to informend for all rentals that include airport pick-up service. If a client does not comply with returning time, Motorhome Europe reserves a right to charge 50 Euro per hour for each hour that a client is late. The Client has to give a minimum 24-hour notice of being late or the surcharge will be issued. However, Motorhome Europe has to approve any changes in returning time. Motorhome Europe may charge in addition to above mentioned fee monetary losses from the client, who was late, if their being late delays the next rental of the rental vehicle.

Cleaning

  • The vehicle must be returned clean inside, with empty waste water tank and lavatory cassette. Failure to comply will entail a cleaning surcharge of 150 Euro and Labor charge of 52 Euro per hour.
  • Smoking is prohibited in the camper, we will charge 850 Euro if this rule is broken
  • Animals are not allowed in the campers, the penalty fee is 400 Euro
  • The rental supplier will automatically charge all parking fines that client has received during their holiday.
